… and welcome to my portfolio. I am a theatre professor, a stage director, actor, and photographer.
My purpose here is to present a sampling of my creative work over the past three decades, mainly directing and theatre photography. I have included only a few representative productions from the 50+ shows I have directed and the 40+ roles I have acted. Most of the theatre photos are mine (others are credited); they almost all reflect actual staging and lighting composition during a performance from the perspective of some seat in the audience (rather than being composed just for the shot). Those that are publicity photos are an obvious exception.
These pages are not intended as a comprehensive academic portfolio to address my record of service, teaching, publications, etc.; that monster-in-a-box stays on a shelf in my office. I include my curriculum vitae for your information and to put my work presented here in some context. In any event, I hope you get a decent impression of my track record as a theatre practitioner and creative artist.
